MAT is now indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)

05-May-2021

We are delighted to announce that Medicine Anthropology Theory is now indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high-quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals and has a reputation for advocating best practices and standards in open access. Indexing in DOAJ makes Medicine Anthropology Theory compliant with many initiatives and programmes around the world, including Plan S in Europe and Capes/Qualis in Brazil.

Indexing MAT has been a key priority for the Editorial Collective from the outset because we know how crucial it can be for the reputation, reach, and impact of our journal content, and the scholars who write them. This exciting next step is likely to increase traffic to the MAT website and give greater exposure to our published content.

In addition to being the only medical anthropology journal that neither charges subscription fees to libraries nor article processing fees to authors, we are thrilled that the high-quality content, publishing standards, and ethos of MAT are now internationally recognised.
