Aims & Scope

Interdisciplinary Accounting Review was set up to provide an outlet for high quality academic research which is freely available to interested readers across the world.

We welcome interdisciplinary work from all parts of the world recognizing that there a large proportion of our planet is underrepresented in the accounting literature. Further, we encourage submissions from work at the intersections of accounting and, law, philosophy, science, the humanities or any other discipline.

Alongside theoretically-informed interdisciplinary studies of accounting phenomena, the editorial team will gladly consider thought pieces, methodological insights, literature reviews, drama, and also visual media.

Research Areas

IAR does not wish to dictate what is and is not accounting.  We value a broad understanding of accounting.  Any and all research that takes an interdisciplinary approach, including critical inquiry, reflectiveness, scientific, societal, and political relevance, to the study of accounting is welcome.  Methodologically, all types of studies are encouraged to be submitted, ranging from conceptual thought-pieces to numerous kinds of qualitative and quantitative empirically grounded works.

Overall, IAR would like to see interdisciplinary work that considers accounting's role(s) in creating, or hampering the creation of a more just, democratized and sustainable world.
